How apt! London Climate Action Week in June 2026 coincided with a red alert heatwave with a significant impact on infrastructure in the capital and across the country, including roads, rail, schools and healthcare.
It was therefore wholly appropriate that the London Stock Exchange welcomed Chapter Zero and Non-Executive Directors to close the market on 22nd June. The LSEG Chair clearly articulated the critical role that the capital markets play in enabling transition and a response to climate change. In the context of capital allocation and climate the Board is key.
The launch of Chapter Zero’s “Climate Competency in the Boardroom: What Effective Governance Requires in 2026” was therefore timely with a particular focus on the following criteria:
