Fidelio Appoints New Advisory Partner - Joanna McDwyer

Fidelio is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanna McDwyer as Advisory Partner - with extensive FTSE 100 and major cap experience in stakeholder engagement and leadership development.


Her experience of working with the leadership of leading organisations will complement and enrich Fidelio’s focus on building highly effective Boards with great judgment capability.


She offers deep insight into individual development methods and building judgement capability in senior teams, which will further enhance Fidelio’s work in advising Chairs and building better Boards through Search, Evaluation and Development.


Joanna has over two decades of experience in corporate communications and government relations, is a former Partner with Brunswick Group, Director of Corporate Affairs for Barclay’s Global Retail and Corporate Bank and government relations lead for HSBC’s Global Businesses including Global Banking & Markets, HSBC’s global investment bank. 


Currently, Joanna is an Executive Coach focused on building successful and high-performing leadership teams. Her work with teams, including Boards and executive committees, focuses on improving team dynamics including collaboration, communication and performance.

Joanna helps clients to evolve their leadership style, impact and effectiveness, allowing them to fulfil their potential for sustained personal and business success. Her work with teams, including Boards and executive committees, focuses on improving team dynamics including collaboration, communication and performance.  She helps clients to use their strengths to navigate complex issues and make good decisions about their business and their role.


Joanna was a Partner with Brunswick Group, Director of Corporate Affairs for Barclay’s Global Retail and Corporate Bank, and led government relations for HSBC’s Global Businesses including Global Banking & Markets, HSBC’s global investment bank.  She also co-founded and served on the Board of an international public affairs business now present in fifty countries. She has specialist stakeholder management experience of advising on M&A approvals and engaging with regulators, governments and third party advocacy groups. 


Joanna graduated in Law from the London School of Economics and is a member of the Board of Yorkshire Ballet Seminars.  She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Foreign Policy Centre, a leading think tank. She is an Advanced Hogan Practitioner and certified in Gallup Strengths assessment.  She is also a trained Gallup Strengths Coach and Nancy Kline Thinking Partner.
